Deddington PCC statement of purpose
Deddington PCC encourages each other, and all church members, to grow in faith.
We endeavour to enable our Church to play its part in God’s mission and ministry to His world, caring for the resources He has provided and setting an example to others who use our Church.
We support our clergy by sharing leadership of the Church, ensuring compliance with all legal matters whether charitable or ecclesiastical, and caring for both buildings and churchyards. We consult and communicate with the wider Church through its synodical structures both locally and nationally on matters that affect our Church.
Our main purpose is to serve God, serve and care for one another and create an environment where this can be sustained.

Deddington Church Who’s who

Revd. Annie has been Vicar in Deddington, with the Barford’s, Hempton and Clifton since February 2015. Her claim to fame is that she was the first female apprentice employed by Land Rover Ltd back in 1976, so she clearly enjoys taking on roles traditionally thought of as being for men! Annie has one son who is now married, and her constant companion these days, other than God obviously, is her Springer Spaniel Sonnet.

James has been Organist and Director of Music at Deddington since December 2018. He also has a strong interest in liturgy and worship planning. James has been involved with church music since he was at school and he is currently a member of the Oxfordshire Committee for the Royal School of Church Music. He is also co-director of The Wheatsheaf Consort, a choir which practices in Bloxham and sings in Cathedrals and Greater Churches throughout the UK. In real life, James is a doctor working as a GP in Banbury. He is married to Holly who also sings in the choir.
