Deddington Foodbank
Dear Friends,
I do hope that you are all keeping safe and well in these very challenging times. The pandemic has been extremely damaging for many people in a variety of ways, not just through catching the virus itself, but also the loneliness of isolation and the difficult financial situation some are finding themselves in. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you as we continue to work our way through this.
I would like to say a huge thank you to all those who generously provide food for the Banbury Food Bank via the church in Deddington. You have been especially generous during the lockdowns which I know has been greatly appreciated as the sad fact is that more and more people are having to turn to the Food Bank for help to feed themselves and their families.
It is great therefore to be able to announce that Deddington Church is now a referral agency for the Banbury Food Bank. This means that if anyone here, or in the surrounding villages needs access to the Food Bank, you can get in touch with the administrator at Deddington church by calling 01869 220720 between the hours of 12 noon and 4pm every Wednesday, or alternatively email them at [email protected] Your request will be dealt with promptly and we will be able to provide vouchers accordingly. If you are urgently in need of food, please use the same contact details and we can supply you with emergency food parcels (and can deliver if necessary).
The plan is that we will eventually operate a Food Bank from the church directly to save those who need it from having to travel to Banbury – but more on this when it actually happens!
A gentle reminder that we can only take dried or tinned food that is unopened and within the ‘sell by’ date, otherwise we have to dispose of it. Also please don’t leave any fresh produce or food that should be kept in a fridge, because again, the Food Bank won’t take it and we have to dispose of it.
Thank you again for your generosity,
